How far in advance do you normally book?
It varies. Generally, couples contact me 9-14 months ahead of their wedding date. I book as early as 18 months in advance, but sometimes as little as 24 hours. The best way to guarantee your date is to book it!
Do you travel?
I love to travel, and I will happily do so for your wedding. I’ve shot weddings as far south as Mexico and as far west as Minnesota, and I’m always up for expanding that list.
Do you need a shot list?
I love to have a list of immediate family and close friends so that I know who to look out for during formal portraits. Beyond that, I have a great handle on how to approach the day and would prefer to focus on that instead of a piece of paper.
What is your average turnaround?
My average turnaround is roughly 4-5 weeks. I edit every image myself - and hey, that takes time, but I work real hard to get your complete gallery to you around your 1 month anniversary.
How many images should we expect?
Typically, at least 70 photos per hour spent working your wedding. This varies based on the schedule and number of guests.
How can my family order prints?
Your final online gallery will be a private gallery published to you, and you can then share that gallery with whomever you’d like. Through that gallery, you & your loved ones can order prints, framed photos, greeting cards, and much more. You also receive “print rights” and can opt to print elsewhere if you so choose.
Do you offer a second photographer?
I rarely need to hire a second photographer. All of my weddings featured on my blog were photographed solo by me and can give you an idea of the range of coverage. But if you have your heart set on a second photographer (or you anticipate having a gigantic wedding!), I am a part of a great network of local wedding photographers and will be able to hire a talented second shooter for your day.
What happens if you’re sick?
It fortunately hasn’t happened yet. However, if - due to hospitalization or some other drastic reason - I am unable to make your wedding, I will reach out within my network of talented wedding photographers and find you an excellent substitute.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. I am happy to provide you with proof of this insurance should your venue require it.
Are you okay if we bring our dog here/there/everywhere?
I’ve had couples invite me over after they’re married so that they can put their wedding outfits back on and roll around in the yard with their dog for photos. I’ve had bridesmaids who walked dogs down the aisle. I’ve had couples ask me to bring my own dog to engagement sessions so they can meet him. So, yes, if you’re looking to include your dog in your photos, I am 100% for it!
