elopement

Melina & Josh's intimate autumn elopement at Arnold Arboretum

Melina and Josh traveled from New York to see their family and celebrate their wedding. They opted to elope in Arnold Aboretum, one of my favorite spots in Boston. They invited each of their family members to find a leaf in the park and present it to the couple with their reason for selecting the leaf. It was a simple way to invite everyone to contribute a memory to the wedding and it was so, so joyful. I may or may not have gotten them lost in the park for 20 minutes following as we tried to find our way back to the cars - but it was for the best as we hit the most incredible light just as we exited onto the sidewalk!

Casey & Tim's Rustic Backyard Wedding

Casey, Tim and I connected through a mutual friend, but I was unavailable for their original date. When the pandemic forced them to change their date, they reached out again. And thank goodness they did because, finally, something good came out of the pandemic: one of my favorite weddings of all time.

Ainsley & Anderson's Pandemic Elopement at Quincy City Hall in Quincy, MA

Anderson DM’d me on Instagram three days before their wedding, asking if I was available to photograph their elopement. We had met when I photographed their engagement at the end of 2018. They had to postpone their big wedding celebration for a year due to COVID-19, but - as Ainsley so succinctly put it - “We were really ready to be married.”

So happy to get to be there for one of the most joyful unions.

Mora & Daniel, Magical Elopement in the Woods @ Duxbury, MA

Mora and Daniel’s plans for a large wedding got to be too much. They decided to call it off. Then, last-minute, they opted to pack a picnic, grab their family and closest friend, and head off into the woods in Duxbury, MA for a perfect New England elopement. Their friend made the bouquet and (delicious) cake and officiated the ceremony. Their children helped carry the picnic supplies through the woods and hid their eyes as Mora & Daniel kissed. The day was the happiest kind, as evidence by all of the laughter below.

Mora & Daniel - Thanks for including me on such a special day. It was one of my favorites.
